Background of the scam: How „Amela“ manipulated victims

The female fraudster known as „Amela“ deliberately lured her victims into traps through fear, hope, and psychological pressure. She promised spiritual cleansing, love spells, and protection against negative energies – always tied to high demands for money. Many victims gave away all their savings in the hope of solving personal problems.

As part of the investigation, assets amounting to 6.6 million euros discovered in a safe in Maria Enzersdorf. Inside were 4.1 million euros in cash, 2.1 million Swiss francs as well as gold and jewelry of immense value. These recovered assets represent a significant opportunity for victims to recover a portion of their losses.

Police suspect that there are further victims who have not yet come forward out of fear or shame. However, there are ways to recover the lost money.
